Meet Sharon Marie Chester, MSW, LCSW

Despite having worked 30 years as a professional Social Worker, when 2005 brought the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Sharon Marie Chester, MSW, LSCW, suddenly found herself fully immersed in the true racist underbelly of this country. Equally shocking was the cost of advocacy, which included the loss of friends, family, jobs, living spaces and a trip to the Supreme Court over a 20-year span. Since those tumultuous early days, Ms. Chester has dedicated her life to dismantling racism at the personal, professional and societal levels according to the mission and guidelines of her Social Work profession. This book offers both the academic foundation for action and a testament to the twists and turns of boots on the ground advocacy. Ms. Chester is currently in private practice in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana, where she continues to challenge others to commit to ongoing racial literacy and to engage in the anti-oppressive lifestyle upon which her noble industry was founded.

Life after life

Life After Life is a bestselling, Costa Award-winning novel. Now a major four-part BBC1 Drama series  starring Thomasin McKenzie, Sian Clifford and James McArdle.
What if you had the chance to live your life again and again, until you finally got it right?
Life After Life follows Ursula Todd as she lives through the turbulent events of the last century again and again. With wit and compassion, Kate Atkinson finds warmth even in life’s bleakest moments, and shows an extraordinary ability to evoke the past. This is a novel that celebrates the best and worst of ourselves.

“A lone fisherman up early looking for sea trout found the first body.”

Strange things are happening. Why is Effie being followed? Why is everyone writing novels? Is someone killing the old people? And where is the mysterious yellow dog?
